For nearly two decades, ES Risks has been building something different.
Founded in 2007 by Chris Hobbs in the heart of London's insurance market, the business was created with a simple ambition: to provide specialist expertise, exceptional service and genuine partnerships in a market increasingly dominated by scale. From day one, independence has shaped the way we think, the way we work and the way we support our clients.
As our reputation grew, so did our expertise.
We developed specialist capabilities across a range of sectors, working alongside brokers, insurers, MGAs and appointed representatives to create tailored insurance solutions for complex and evolving risks. By combining technical knowledge with commercial thinking, we built long-term relationships founded on trust, responsiveness and consistently delivering the right outcomes.
Our ambition has always extended beyond the UK.
The launch of ES Risks Europe in Athens marked an important milestone in our journey, enabling us to provide seamless access to European markets while strengthening our international presence. Today, our teams in London and Athens work together to support partners across the globe with the same commitment to service, expertise and collaboration that has defined ES Risks from the beginning.
Like many successful businesses, our journey has evolved.
In 2021, ES Risks became part of the Howden Group, opening a new chapter in our history. More recently, the business returned to independent ownership through a management buyout led by our founder and supported by our people.
Becoming employee-owned reaffirmed what has always made ES Risks different: entrepreneurial thinking, personal accountability and a culture where every member of the team has a genuine stake in our success.
Today, ES Risks is proud to call 17 Bevis Marks home, placing us at the centre of the world's leading insurance market while continuing to expand our reach internationally.
As an independent Lloyd's broker, Coverholder and European intermediary, we continue to invest in our people, technology and partnerships. Our focus remains exactly as it was in 2007: helping our clients and partners succeed through specialist expertise, trusted relationships and innovative thinking.
